QWO® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. QWO® is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment with no downtime.
The enzymes in QWO®, called collagenases, target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. It is thought that QWO® works by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.
QWO® is only approved for treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Endo Aesthetics™ is continuing to investigate additional areas of treatment.
Before your injections, you will sit down with your provider to determine the severity and exact locations of the cellulite. After the consultation, your provider will mark the target areas and the QWO will be injected into the areas of concern. The entire process is very quick, painless, and minimally invasive. Following your injections, your provider will ask that you continue laying down in the prone position for about 5 minutes.
Like most injectables, you may experience some tenderness or minor swelling at the injection sites, however these effects tend to resolve themselves within 5-7 days. The most common, and most anticipated side effect from your treatment is bruising, which can be moderate to severe, depending on the patient.
After your treatment, you will be able to return to your normal activities, as there is no downtime. Your next QWO treatment will be scheduled for 21 days after the initial treatment, 3 treatments in total.
